Mandy Hendrickson

She/Her || Provisional Counsellor

My Background

Hi! I am a professional interim counsellor passionate about helping individuals where they are. My approach is collaborative, and aimed at supporting and enhancing client well-being. Outside of therapy, I enjoy moving my body in joyful ways. I have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, eating disorders, as well as acquired and traumatic brain injuries.

Through my self-discovery journey, I have found solace in exploring sexuality and gender while breaking societal norms. We are all evolving, and I want to use my experiences to help clients on their unique paths.

Through my self-discovery, I have found solace in exploring sexuality, and gender, and breaking many societal norms.  We are always evolving, and I hope to use my own experience to help clients along their individual journey!

My Approach & Philosophy

My counselling style is client-centred and informed by multiple modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, and Existential Therapy. While these frameworks guide my practice, I adopt an eclectic approach to tailor therapy to the individual. Every person is unique, and our therapeutic process should reflect that.

I am also working towards becoming a certified EMDR clinician and am currently an EMDR-informed professional interim counsellor, excited to integrate these skills into my practice. Additionally, I will soon be registered as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
