Intern Counsellors

What are Intern Counsellors?
Interns, or students, are counsellors who have completed all of their classes and course work to obtain their Masters degree in counselling or social work. In order to graduate and apply for their licensing, they need practical hours working with clients. This is done under the direct supervision of a qualified and experienced therapist who meets with the student regularly.

What Sets our Interns Apart?
- All of our interns are anti-racist, anti-oppressive, client centred, LGBTQ2+ allied, and inclusive.
- Work from multiple theoretical orientations to ensure clients find the fit and approach they are looking for.
- Our interns have dedicated supervisors who are happy to meet with clients, sit in on sessions, and connect regularly (often daily) with their students.
- Interns at Clarity Okanagan are hired with their interests in mind. Having students who are passionate about the topics they work with means clients get to see an intern who is enthusiastic and engaged about the work they do.
